This year a lot of USB 3.0 devices to appear. VIA, which is usually responsible for all sorts of facility low-end computers, has just introduced a first USB 3.0 hub controller. What's so special?
VL810 SuperSpeed USB hub controller that allows a single USB port shared by a maximum of four USB 3.0 devices bandwidth hungry. This fun feature on the machines which usually require the owner to connect a USB peripheral.
One upstream port and four downstream ports are not only supporting SuperSpeed rate (remember that USB 3.0 is also known as SuperSpeed USB?), But also compatible with earlier USB specification and offers support for traffic Hi-Speed (480Mbps), Full-Speed (12Mbps ), and Low-Speed (1.5Mbps). Imagine if it was mounted on nettops, should be interesting is not it?
Another uniqueness, VIA VL810 is the first USB hub controller utilizing 80nm CMOS technology, which can reduce power consumption even more. (kompas)
