UN Telecommunications Agency stated that the third world war could happen in cyberspace. The countries in the world should be cautious and equip themselves with a qualified defense system.
"The next world war could happen in the virtual realm, and this can be disastrous. We must ensure that all countries understand that in war there is no superpower," said Hamadoun Toure, Secretary General of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
"The loss of vital tissue can quickly paralyze every country, and no one immune to cyber attacks," Toure added in the ITU Telecom World 2009.
Toure added that the current countries relying on technology to various fields such as finance, health, emergency services, food distribution. Along with the increased engagement with technology, especially the Internet, cyber attacks are also increasing.
One of the frequent attacks virtual hacker is phishing for a password, or also by way of breaking into the security network.
Therefore, every country should equip themselves with a qualified defense system that does not easily overpowered.
To anticipate cyber attacks, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced it would pay a thousand new IT security experts.
Meanwhile, South Korea announced it would train 3000 police cyber next year.
