Again, cyber criminals take advantage of major events as a major event in spreading malicious viruses. Widespread coverage in the Pacific Ocean tsunami and the earthquake that occurred in West Sumatra, Wednesday (30/9/2009), used hackers to target victims of their crimes.
Some computer security experts and the internet today has warned cyberspace surfers to be cautious in opening the links to related news reports tsunami that hit Samoa and Tonga and the earthquake in Padang, West Sumatra.
The very clever criminals take advantage of the situation with relevant information dissemination major events like the tsunami and earthquake phenomena today.
Web User, Friday (2/10/2009) launch, the hackers to spread the so-called scareware or Fake AV, through links to related news and exploiting the intense public interest in access.
Criminals generally build a fake Web page that contains a cursory look like news content and information about the disaster. They use a technique known as search engine optimization (SEO) for to push the pages higher up search result lists.
"SEO is 'poisoned' was then attacked most of the major topics on which today is the latest tsunami and earthquake in Samoa and West Sumatra," said a spokesman for the Internet security firm F-Secure in statement.
Anyone who clicks on this link will then be automatically directed to access the site indicating that the computer you are using a virus infection and prompt you to install a program to eliminate them.
In fact, true that the program is a virus that link will eventually attack the user's computer. (okezone)
