Microsoft & Yahoo Partnership Signed Official

Microsoft and Yahoo officially signed an agreement to cooperate in the field of Internet search engine to rival Google.

Cooperation was announced in mid this week, while the initial terms of the deal had been announced earlier in July. In fact, contracts for 10 years was signed late last October, but both sides had to postpone due to some points that have not reached an agreement.

However, the U.S. government still must approve the proposed cooperation before Microsoft and Yahoo can start working together.

As quoted by the Associated Press, Sunday (6/12/2009), the two companies believe they can solve problems that early next year. If the government gives permission, Microsoft is hoping to start a partnership with Yahoo in the U.S. in the middle of next year.

Microsoft and Yahoo partnered together after a long enough period of exploration. Microsoft is headquartered in Redmond, Washington, in the end to negotiate again because they think Yahoo offers the best opportunity to overthrow the dominance of the Google search engine.

Yahoo took second place as a popular search engine used by Internet user. While Microsoft, is ranked third after Yahoo.
