French President Trip Ambition Google

Google's ambitions to scan the books in a huge digital library project, re-open attack. The most powerful man in France that President Nicolas Sarkozy, vowed not to let wealth of literature of his country taken away.

"We're not going to let our culture was stripped for a large company profits, no matter the company is so friendly, so large or so Americans," said Sarkozy.

Apparently, the French have their own digital library project for the country's literature. Sarkozy insisted, various books produced from generation to generation in the French language will not be handed over to the other party.

Google's digital library project is on one side praised for allowing broad access to books. But on the other hand, such an ambitious project was also criticized the copyright issues related to the authors.

On the other hand, French Prime Minister Francois Fillon last month have also asked the publisher of the book to prevent damage that might occur due to illegal downloading. French Government proposes that the EU also agreed a giant book digitization project.

Indeed between France and Google sometimes not get along. Even in the year 2005, Leader France and Germany are planning to make internet search engine called Quaero is intended to topple Google. Unfortunately, this project failed due to temporary lack of funds dole. (detikinet)
