
"Our service will Android release around February or March," said Chief Marketing Officer of Indosat, Guntur Siboro between IM3 event at Hard Rock Cafe, Jakarta, Monday (18/1/2010).

"But the problem of data compression, it can not be denied services made RIM (Research in Motion, manufacturer of the BlackBerry) is still superior," he said.
Thunder can not project the potential market for Android future customers in Indonesia. But he said, the market is still wide open. "People who like the Google certainly would like to Android," he concluded.
Apart from Indosat, the operator who first tried to snatch Android market is Telkomsel. Unfortunately Telkomsel chose to develop the iPhone user market.
Efforts by Indosat was also started pioneered Axiata XL. This operator will release Android around the first quarter or early second quarter of this year.
Both these operators have also started holding Android community in Indonesia to better understand the specific needs of their prospective users.

It looks like a great phone, too bulky though, don't you think? It does look very sophisticated and expensive. If it's going to cost me an arm and a leg I'd probably just stick to my iphone. I imagine those who would want to be buying this would be IT professionals and high profile businessmen.
