High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is a latest technology in mobile telecommunication systems issued by the 3GPP Release 5 and is a 3.5-generation technology (3,5 G).
If the Global Positioning System (GPS) is a system that utilizes satellite navigation. GPS receivers acquire signals from multiple satellites orbiting the earth. Satellites orbiting the earth at these short orbital array consists of 24 satellites, with 21 active satellites and three satellite units as backup. With the composition of a particular orbit, the GPS satellites can be received all over the surface of the earth with the appearance of the fruit between four to eight satellites. GPS can provide position information and time with very high accuracy.
EDGE is an extension of the GSM technology. EDGE stands for 'Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution'. GSM itself as one of the second generation mobile communication technology, is a technology that is currently the most widely used in various countries. During its development, the ability to channel GSM voice and data communications in low speed (9.6 - 14.4 kbps), then evolved into a capable GPRS voice and data channel with better speed, 115 kilobits per second. In the next phase, the increasing need for a mobile communication system capable of delivering data with higher speeds, and to respond to these needs and then diperkenalkanlah EDGE capable of delivering data at speeds up to three times the speed of GPRS, which is 384 kbps.
To speed matters, HSDPA has more speed than EDGE, much less than the GPRS.
